Emmanuel Villanis (Lille 1858-Paris 1914) - French sculptor, of Italian origin, born according to some sources in Lille, according to others - in Italy. From 1896 to 1914 he exhibited at the Paris Salon. His large artistic output, strongly influenced by Art Nouveau, consists mainly of figures and busts of young women, most often with decorative, Art Nouveau-styled names of heroines placed on their bases, which, according to tradition, have the features of his daughter.
