Black Diamonds is a project referring to the great ideas of
modernism, this time told from the end - from the side of the accompanying
their social consequences. Its main element was the transformation of coal
stone into small sculptures, created in the manner of jewelers' diamonds.
The black sculptures were made by unemployed former miners, this time
this time employed as part of an art project. The Black Diamonds project
is not only a dialogue with the post-industrial tradition of Upper Silesia, but also an
also an attempt to answer the question about the causal power of art and the artist in
initiating social activity.
