Supported on three flattened legs and a triangular, stepped base with beveled corners and concave sides and a tripartite pedestal decorated with stylized dolphins and seashells, on which is set a stem in the shape of a full-figured mermaid figure with a double fish tail. The mermaid, slightly tilted back, holds a
in her raised hands a platter sphere in the form of a nautilus shell, decorated on the sides with openwork, and under the wide spout with the winged head of an angel.
Plewkiewicz's company was established in 1886 as a limited partnership with capital contributed by Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik. The company's main activity was the finishing of semi-finished products sent by the WMF and the sale of finished products (stamped with the Plewkiewicz mark). In 1890, independent production activities were also launched.
