Mantel clock with patriotic melodies

A nice classic mantel clock from the 19th century. Made in Biedermeier style of polychrome wood.

Alabaster columns, mother-of-pearl appliqués and gilded brass. The upper "window" topping the clock case features the "Eye of Divine Providence" a frequent motif used in 18th and 19th century religious paintings.

The base of the clock contains a hand-painted bicolonial coat of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth placed behind the bezel and glass. the solid wooden base is also the case for a music box playing three melodies, including God's Something Poland.

The mechanism to be adjusted and lubricated - the pendulum stops after several seconds.

Preservation condition of the item good+.

Dimensions of the base 38x13.5 cm, height 57 cm.
