Biography
Painter associated with the École de Paris community. From 1923 he studied in Weimar at the Bauhaus (with Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee). From 1925 he stayed in Berlin, and in 1933 he settled permanently in Paris. After the war, he traveled extensively, including to Italy and Morocco. He exhibited in Weimar, Stockholm, Paris and Berlin. He painted figural compositions related to Jewish folklore and biblical scenes. He was also involved in book illustration.
