WOŁŁEJKO Leon Adam (1883-1949) - was the son of Cezary Wołłejko and Maria née Maciejewska. He graduated from the faculty of pharmacy at the University of Moscow.
He made his debut in 1906 in a Polish troupe in Minsk Litewski. In the 1909/10 season, he was a member of the Vilnius theater company. On April 28, 1910, he married Valeria Sienkiewicz. He was associated with the Vilna theater for many years, and certainly performed here in 1913-16 and 1919-25. In the 1925/26 season he played at the Municipal Theater in Lublin, and in the summer of 1926 he managed the Lutnia Theater in Vilna. In 1926-31 he was a member of the Reduta troupe; he performed initially in Vilna and also on tours, from 1929 only on tours, which he sometimes directed. In the 1931/32 season he appeared at the Municipal Theaters in Vilna, in the autumn of 1932 he appeared as a guest at the Chamber Theater in Czestochowa, in the 1932/33 season at the Słowacki Theater in Cracow, and in 1933-41 he appeared steadily in Vilna, first at the Municipal Theaters and from 1939 at the Polish Dramatic Theater. In 1936, he played the guest role of Durejka (Ring of the Great Lady) at Warsaw's Reduta Institute.
His popularity in Vilna was further enhanced by the fact that he wrote and delivered over the radio and later published in the press and in separate notebooks the regional columns The Troubles of Oshmyanchuk.
