Łukasz Huculak, one of the most forward-thinking Polish painters.
Graduated with honors from the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture at the E. Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, 2002. Employed at the academy since 2002; received his doctorate in 2009; since 2013 has been running a painting studio and heading the Interdepartmental Doctoral Studies.
Numerous scholarships, awards and prizes, including: Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, 2000, 2004; First Prize of the 19th Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting, Szczecin, 2002; honorable mention in the national competition of the Biennale of Painting "Bielska Jesień", 2004.

He started with monochromatic still lifes. After a period of fascination with Renaissance primitivism and interior architecture, he concentrates his artistic explorations on the motif of the skull and narrowly framed detail. He is interested in frailty and fragmentation, and uses the aesthetics of "incomplete" forms: sketch, destruct and non finito.
