Biography
Graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1987 in the studio of Prof. Stanislaw Rodzinski and Prof. Zbylut Grzywacz. Since then, he has held 25 solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions. He cultivates metaphorical oil and pastel painting. He also creates portraits, book illustrations and posters. His works are in many collections in Poland, as well as in Austria, Germany, Holland, France and the USA. Kolpanovich's paintings "starred" in the TV series Siedlisko directed by Janusz Majewski (Anna Dymna painted Kolpanovich's "flying steam locomotive"), and appeared on book covers (including Arkadiusz Pacholski's Brulion of Paris, Waldemar Lysiak's Chalice, and Marta Dabrowska's poetry volumes). The artist realized the Stations of the Cross in the Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Tenczynku near Cracow, the beatification painting of Sister Marta Wiecka in Sniatyn (Ukraine), and the altar painting and fresco in the Center of St. John Paul II in "Do not be afraid" in Cracow-Lagiewniki.
