Marta Bilecka, Silence XVIII

She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz in 2002. She received her diploma in the Painting Studio of Prof. Marek Czajkowski and in the Woodcut Techniques Studio of Prof. Andrzej Bartczak. Her painting focuses on depicting water - rivers, seas, beaches, as well as islands. The technique she uses means that although she paints straight, Bilecka's water is static and full of tranquility, even when it is in constant motion or shimmering illuminated by the sun. Her works have been shown in many group exhibitions, as well as in several solo exhibitions. The artist's paintings are in private collections in Europe, Canada and Asia.
