acrylic, panel, 20 x 25 cm, signed p.d.: 'P. GRIC 2020' and inscribed on the reverse: 'BACK TO EDEN | PETER GRIC 2020 | ACRYLIC | [dedication]'.
Austrian painter of Czech origin. In 1988, the artist began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in the class of Professor Arik Brauer. He earned a master's degree in fine arts in 1993. In 2009, Gric built his studio and house in Oberhöflein on the Hohe Wand plateau near the Eastern Alps. In 2010, he worked on a Concept Design film project for Guillermo del Toro's studio on "At the Mountains of Madness." From 2011 to 2015, he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In the early 1990s, Peter Gric began to explore the possibilities of using computer techniques in his painting. From then on, his organic, surrealistic vision of the world in his paintings was enriched by complex architectural structures and artifacts. Instead of using a pencil and sketchbook, he began to design his compositions using 3D visualization software, transferring virtual reality into his artwork, and through this he found his overly unique and distinctive style.
