Graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in 1953, where he later ran a painting studio from 1965. Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, many times dean of the Faculty of Painting. He studied with J. Cybis, developing an interest in colorism. Until the late 1950s, he created woodcuts. In the mid-1950s he began to paint abstract paintings, similar to informel. Until the 1970s, he painted expressively and spontaneously. Later paintings have a more clear, "controlled" form. The artist's invariable inspiration was nature, its colors and richness of forms. In the following years, in parallel with painting, he practiced tapestry weaving and was also involved in ceramics. His sources of inspiration were often maps, city plans and graffiti-like fragments. He practiced video art. Since the mid-1990s, his work has been enriched by computer technology. In 1956 he represented Polish painting at the Venice Biennale. In 1973 he received the Jan Cybis Award. Tadeusz Dominik was one of the most original artists of contemporary Polish painting and an outstanding colorist.
