Wieslaw Obrzydowski is a unique Krakow artist who, thanks to his individual, radical artistic search, has found his place in the canon of Polish modern art. He is counted among the representatives of the "new expression" and considered a precursor of the trans-avant-garde. Wieslaw Obrzydowski's art is expressive in flavor, juicy. Not devoid of influences and quotations, it draws consciously from tradition, thanks to which it is not limited by the unwritten postulate of the 20th-century avant-garde that rejects this tradition programmatically, just like historical heritage or mass culture.
