Antoni Stanislaw PROCAJŁOWICZ

Painter, graphic artist, draughtsman, educator. From 1896 to 1901 he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow with Florian Cynk, Jacek Malczewski, Leon Wyczółkowski and Jan Stanislawski. In later years, he continued his studies in Florence. He circulated among the artists of Young Poland. In 1899 he took over the artistic direction of the magazine Life. He was a member of the Towarzystwo Artystów Polskich Sztuka and Polska Sztuka Stosowana. From 1908 he taught decorative painting at the Państw. Industrial School in Cracow. During World War I, he served in the Polish Legions. He was active in the field of book graphics. He was also involved in interior decoration (wall paintings, mosaics) and designed stained glass windows. He painted atmospheric-symbolic landscapes in the style of the Jan Stanislavski school, as well as portraits.
