Błażej Iwanowski (1889-1966) initially studied drawing with F.Roliński, W.Dymitrow and P.Kowalewski. From 1907 to 1910 he studied at the Warsaw Drawing School under J.Kauzik and M.Kotarbiński. Then, from 1910 to 1912, he further studied at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts under Stanislaw Lentz. He belonged to several creative groups, including the Zacheta Group, the Team, the Independents and the Warsaw Art Society. He exhibited at Warsaw's TZSP, Krakow's TPSP, Poznan, and in later years also in Sopot. He painted interiors (including the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Wawel Castle and Malbork Castle), in addition to architectural motifs, still life, flowers, as well as portraits and genre scenes.
