Julius Kost (Meissen 1807 - Düsseldorf 1888) - painter, representative of the Düsseldorf school. He studied painting at the Academy there, where he was a pupil of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer ( 1840-1843). He belonged to the Malkasten association. He painted landscapes and vedutas of Germany and the Netherlands, as well as genre paintings.
