Biography
In 1931-35 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the studios of Władysław Jarocki, Józef Mehoffer and Ignacy Pieńkowski. From 1923 he was also active in the painting studio of Wojciech and Jerzy Kossak, creating sub-paintings for their works. Following in the footsteps of his masters, he created compositions in which horses, carriages, wedding processions or battle scenes became frequent motifs. During World War II he was deported to the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp, which left a strong mark on his later life. After returning to the country, he settled in Kawêczyn. He also returned to painting, but did not create as much as he did in the interwar period.
