Biography
She was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In 1903 she married her lecturer, Ryszard Ordynski. Receiving a letter of recommendation from her alma mater, she left in 1908 for further studies in Italy. She stayed in Florence and Rome. In 1910 she settled in Paris, where she became associated with the artistic bohemia of Montparnasse. During the interwar period, she moved frequently. In 1939, a solo exhibition of her work was to be held at Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery. However, the war thwarted these plans and kept the artist in the country. Ordyńska-Morawska then became involved in underground activities. After the war she lived in Cracow and also returned to Paris for a while. Eventually she settled in Wroclaw. In many of her landscapes she referred to the achievements of Paul Gauguin and the Pont-Aven School. In them she operated with a clear contour, which she filled with an impressionistic understanding of the color spot.
