Ms. Regina's long-standing friendship with Wlastimil Hofman was initiated by physician Dr. Jan Freundlich (an acquaintance of the artist from Palestine during World War II). Rich correspondence between the Hofmans and Ms. Regina remains in the Dobek family collection, testifying to their close relationship. The first letters date back to 1962. Since then, Mrs. Regina has visited the Hofmans several times, helping them with financial as well as organizational matters. As part of this assistance, Ms. Regina purchased several paintings from the Hofmans. This friendship and correspondence between Gdynia and Szklarska Poreba continued uninterrupted until the artist's death in 1970.
