Aleksander Sołtan - studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Władysław Skoczylas and Leon Wyczółkowski, where he received his diploma in 1937. He was a member of ZAIKS. He was involved in drawing, printmaking and applied graphics. He exhibited his works regularly since 1935 in Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery. Winner of numerous awards such as: Silver Medal at the Jubilee Salon of TZSP (1935): Third Prize at the Exhibition of Visual Artists in the Struggle for Peace, a competition distinction at the Exhibition of Marine Graphics.He was primarily engaged inlithography and applied graphics. He made vedutas, seaside landscapes and portraits, and often depicted important figures from Polish history. He was the author of many portfolios and graphic series, including "Hunting Teki" (1938) and "Fighting Warsaw" (1940-1948). He was involved in designing book covers and labels. The artist's works are in the collections of the National Museum in Cracow, the Cracow Museum and the District Museum in Bydgoszcz, among others.
