Franciszek Bunsch - born in 1926 in Bielsk. Polish painter and graphic artist, representative of the Cracow school of printmaking, specializes in metaphorical vision of reality. Long-time lecturer and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Studied painting with Prof. Eugeniusz Eibisch and graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He started working at the Academy in 1952, and in 1965 took charge of the woodcut studio. In 1990 he was given the title of full professor until his retirement in 1996. Since 1951, he has participated in exhibitions of Polish printmaking at home and abroad, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, Denmark, Norway, Canada, the USA and Cuba. He has shown 30 solo exhibitions, becoming one of the respected representatives of the metaphorical trend in printmaking. He was also involved in book illustration and graphic design of publications, receiving numerous awards for this work. In 1960-1980, he designed a series of playing cards, which were published by the Cracow Paper Works. He also cultivates the art of ex-libris and realizes unique author's books.
