Painter, art historian, educator. Studied art history and classical architecture at the University of Poznan, hence his fascination with Mediterranean art. In 1929 he made illustrations for Catholic magazines. After receiving a scholarship in 1932, he went to study painting in Vilnius, where he studied under L. Slendzinski. After the war, he took up teaching work in Vilnius, and then in Bytom and Katowice. He has been a member of ZPAP since 1959.
