Painter and printmaker, from 1900 to 1903 studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow under L. Wyczółkowski, J. Unierzyski and J. Mehoffer. He continued his studies in Italy, and from 1907 in France, where he remained until the end of his life. From 1920 he was a member of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, and from 1929 he belonged to the Société du Salon d'Automne. In 1933 he joined the Professional Union of Polish Artists in Cracow, and from 1956 he joined the Union of Polish Artists in France. In 1939 he became honorary president of the Union of Polish Graphic Artists. He was the creator of many series of paintings and prints, includingCathedrals, Self-Burial,Monk, Death of Apollo, Stained Glass, and Reunion ofMermaidson the Vistula River. He had about 170 solo exhibitions during his lifetime.
