Painter and illustrator. Among other things, he made illustrations to Quo Vadis by Henryk Sienkiewicz. Between 1877 and 1883 he studied in the studio of Jan Matejko at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts. He then continued his studies with Seitz at the Academy in Munich, from where he traveled to Italy and Palestine after 1885. In 1886 he was back in Cracow, where he became a member of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts. He painted genre and religious scenes, as well as portraits, which brought him his greatest fame.
