"Christie's auction house has valued Whielkie Dwarf's painting "Monkeys with White Bananas" at £70,000. It is a response to the work "Monkeys with white margins" by Wilhelm Sasnal. Dwarf or Sasnal, the important thing is that he painted the monkeys in a way acceptable to critics and auction houses. The painting must also be old enough. If it was created recently, you have to give another older one and already the auction house is satisfied. The collector who comes to buy the painting must be convinced that he is buying a masterpiece. Since previously a painting with monkeys by a very well-known artist sold for tens of thousands of pounds, why not put up a similar painting by an unknown artist (but with a good-sounding name) Whielkie the Dwarf for a similar sum? The action of The Krasnals exposes the mechanism of the art market and ridicules the schematic thinking of critics. Few can imagine that a serious auction house can act so unprofessionally. We are already accustomed to the lack of professionalism of critics, art promotion institutions, galleries and even artists themselves, but we hoped that such a well-known auction house would not get caught up in a prepared provocation. Once again we found out that the art market is ruled by protectionism and deals, art itself receded into the background. Unfortunately, the recipient of art has also failed, who is guided by what is imposed on him in a pushy manner by trend setters who reap gigantic profits from the sale of the often mediocre artists they promote. For young and talented artists, who use their own imagination and craftsmanship shaped over many years to create their works, rather than the overhead projectors through which Internet copies are created, such a state of affairs means that they must rely on marketing and patrons rather than a professional and reliable approach to their work. "

An anonymous group of artists critical of current phenomena in contemporary art, of political correctness in the social, political sphere, including within art itself. Humor sometimes hard to swallow and ambiguity not allowing to strictly define the options they support, cause controversy in many circles. The main place of The Krasnals' activity is their blogs (Polish and English), where they regularly publish posts, usually with their images and texts commenting on phenomena that bother, fascinate or piss them off.
