Polish painter, printmaker, conservationist and educator. He graduated from the Royal Gymnasium in Gniezno, where his passion for painting was instilled in him by the school's teacher at the time, Wincenty Krzemieniewski. From 1894 to 1901 he continued his education in Berlin: first at a craft school, and then studied painting at the Kunsgewerbeschule. After traveling to Italy and France, he settled in Gniezno, and from 1912 in Poznan.
