Sculptor, printmaker, illustrator. He took courses at the Industrial School in Cracow and the Wood Industry School in Zakopane. He continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow - sculpture under Konstanty Laszczka, graphic arts under Jozef Pankiewicz. He spent a year on scholarship in Paris. He was one of the founders of the Cracow Workshops, and was friends with Stefan Żeromski and Stanisław Witkiewicz. Of graphic techniques, he practiced etching and lithography, in these works he showed a tendency towards symbolism and raw expression.
