Skarzynski Jerzy (1924-2004), painter, stage designer, book illustrator and educator.
In 1941 he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (then as Kunstgewerbeschule) and at the Faculty of Architecture of the Cracow University of Technology. After his studies, from 1948 he worked as a stage designer in Cracow theaters, after 1970 he became a lecturer at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts . Winner of both professional awards(e.g. for the set design for the film Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass in 1974) and state awards(including the Gold Cross of Merit, the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta).
