Biography
Painter, printmaker, also worked in artistic textiles, ceramics, and computer graphics. In 1946-51 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, graduating in 1953 in the studio of Prof. Jan Cybis. In 1951, he began teaching at the capital's academy and worked his way through all levels of his academic career, from assistant to full professor (1988). He was twice dean of the Painting Department of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. He was a recipient of the Jan Cybis Award (1973) and a Ford Foundation scholarship (1962), among others. His works are in museum and private collections in Poland and around the world.
