Biography
He began his artistic studies at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1865. He was among the "Munichists" alongside Ajdukiewicz and Sidorowicz, among others - he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts under Alexander Wagner and Otto Seitz. Having returned to Krakow in 1877, he studied at the School of Fine Arts in the studio of Jan Matejko until 1881. He spent the years 1882 -88 again in Munich. While studying in Krakow, he wandered through villages, towns and manor houses. He painted genre scenes and landscapes, and mainly portraits of the owners and their families in landed houses. His favorite subjects were views and landscapes from the Tatra Mountains and Podhale.
