Stanislaw Jakubowski (14.04.1885 Kosow - 9.06.1964 Krakow) graphic artist and painter. Initially studied at the School of Wood Industry in Stanislawow (sculpture department), and between 1907 and 1912 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Krakow under T. Axentowicz, S. Dębicki and L. Wyczółkowski, from 1912 a teacher in secondary education, from 1946 a lecturer, then docent at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. From about 1914 he took up mainly artistic printmaking, a master of woodcut, also practiced metal techniques, author of about a thousand engravings, moreover a prolific applied printmaker, expert in ornament and Slavic themes; see SAP vol. 3 pp. 185-187
