Painter, university professor, recipient of numerous awards and prizes (including the Grand Prix of the Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting in Szczecin in 1968 and the George Rowney Award in London in 1973). He was associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, first as a student of Jan Cybis, then as his assistant, and since 1979 as a professor. Inspirations of colorism, informel painting were present in Dominik's paintings. Most important for the artist were references to nature. Dominik's first exhibition was at the Warsaw Arsenal in 1955. In addition to painting, he was involved in woodcuts, ceramics, tapestry or computer graphics.
