A pair of French ivory boxes - 19th century

carved elephant ivory boxes (Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797 or Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758). The lids embellished with a portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821), Emperor of France, while seated in front of a fire and a head of Napoleon in profile to the left.
Height x diameter: 1.9 x 5.4 cm. Weight 29 g.
