Anna Niesterowicz
Born in 1974 in Warsaw, lives and works in Warsaw.
Author of videos, objects, installations, drawings. From 1995-2000 she studied at the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, defended her diploma in the studio of Prof. Grzegorz Kowalski. Very often she creates extremely personal works, or, as in the case of the video installation Darkness and Mildew (2000), even exhibitionist works. He draws on the tradition of reportage, and strongly influences the mood of the viewer by touching his own emotions. From works revealing her own privacy and traumas, she has evolved towards issues of language. In her projects she uses language games, and is interested in the emergence of new codes and systems of meaning. She also touches on issues of present-history relations or xenophobia. She creates sketch drawings-narratives and embroiders doodles, drawing on urban and linguistic inspirations. Her works can be found in Zachęta Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, among others
