Juliusz Narzynski (Warsaw 1934 - Warsaw 2020) - studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, received his diploma in the atelier of Prof. Artur Nacht Samborski in 1959. In 1970 he stayed in the Netherlands on an artistic scholarship from the Dutch government. From 1973 he headed the painting studio at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Lodz, then became a professor at the school (now the Wł.Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts). He cultivates painting maintained in the surrealist convention, which undergoes evolutions and changes and its overriding goal is to create a symbolic vision of the world. Initially, the artist remained under a certain charm of informel, with time his painting began to acquire dynamism and sharpness of expression. Fleshy, biological forms clashed with geometrized objects swirling in an indefinite space. The mid-1970s saw a turn toward intimate painting. The dynamism of forms gives way to a flatly painted plane, contour takes on fluidity, while color is used to make objects unreal, and brings the viewer into a lyrical, poetic world. He is the recipient of many awards, including the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award (1969) and the Prize of the Mayor of the City of Warsaw (1974). He has participated in many national and international exhibitions. His works are in museum collections and private collections at home and abroad.
