A thematic set dedicated to the American Civil War (1861–1865), combining numismatic and military memorabilia from one of the most important conflicts in the history of the United States. The set comprises coins, a Confederate States of America banknote, and two bullets, presented in a dedicated collector’s case.
The Civil War brought profound changes to the American monetary system. Enormous wartime expenditure, shortages of specie, and the need to finance the opposing armies resulted in the increasing importance of paper currency alongside traditional coinage. Particularly notable are the issues of the Confederacy, whose banknotes remain among the most characteristic material testimonies to the existence and economy of the Confederate States of America.
The inclusion of two bullets adds a military dimension to the set, juxtaposing the currency of the period with objects directly associated with the armed conflict.
The set is presented in an elegant, dedicated “American Civil War” collector’s case, with individual compartments for each item.
