Russia USSR Medal 1945 For the Liberation of Warsaw . The medal “For the Liberation of Warsaw” is made of brass and has the shape of a regular circle with a diameter of 32 mm. On the front side at the top along the circumference there is an inscription “FOR LIBERATION”; in the center there is an inscription on the ribbon “WARSHAW”; below there is a five-pointed asterisk with rays diverging from it. The obverse of the medal is bordered by a rim. On the reverse side of the medal is the date of the liberation of Warsaw “January 17. 1945”; above the date there is a five-pointed asterisk. All inscriptions and images on the medal are convex. The medal is connected with an eyelet and a ring to a pentagonal block covered with a blue silk moire ribbon 24 mm wide. In the middle of the tape is a red stripe 8 mm wide. The edges of the ribbon are bordered with narrow yellow stripes. Brass. Weight approx: 29.00 g. Diameter: 32 mm.
